Wear Jeans This Summer

Summer is here!!! Time to bring out your floral dresses, shorts, easy- breezy maxi dresses and jeans. Yes I said jeans!!! I know most of you think jeans are not for the summer but when you live in Bombay and need to use public transport jeans become your summer staple. But don’t worry you can still look super cute in a pair of jeans.  In India I think the best places to buy a pair of jeans are Mango, Zara  or Forever 21. Here are some denim trends you can try this summer.

Rihanna, Fergie and Posh wearing colored jeans

Colored Denim
Summer is all about color. I love this trend, I own a pair of purple jeans and I have just ordered a fab orange pair from Forever21. This summer you will see colored jeans everywhere in all sorts of shades. If you want to buy a pair in India I suggest you check out Zara, they have them in every possible color.

Printed Denim
Floral print jeans are huge this summer. If flowers are not your thing then you can opt for other options like tie-dye or polka dot printed jeans. There are a host of prints to choose from if you like this trend. Pair these jeans with a simple white or plain colored tee and if you’re gutsy, then you can try (with caution) the print on print trend that’s quite big this summer.

Ripped Boyfriend Jeans
My favorite jeans are and always will be my ripped boyfriend jeans because they are soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo comfortable. These jeans are so easy to wear coz you can team them up with absolutely anything!!!! I like to roll mine up a little when I wear them. Someone asked me to do a blog on ripped denim so I am going to tell you a little more about this style and also share some of my style secrets. Firstly if you are going for a big rip or lots of rips I would advice you to rip your jeans yourself. Yes I did just tell you to cut your jeans up. There are two reasons for this. The first being, we all have different body types and are not the same height. So even if you have the same waist size as me but your shorter readymade ripped jeans will fit us both differently as the rips will be positioned on your legs as per the length of your legs. So when you rip your jeans yourself you know exactly where you want the rip to be, so just try them on and mark the area where you want the rip and then put them flat on the ground and use a blade or a paper-cutter and snip away! Secondly they will look unique and different coz you ripped them yourself!!! If this seems like a lot of work and you just want a pair of basic distressed jeans with a few small holes here and there then go check out Mango, Zara or Forever 21.

Jodhpuri Jeans
I bought a pair of jodhpuri jeans from Zara a few years ago and each time I wear them I have someone asking me where I got them from. Unfortunately they are not available at Zara anymore and I haven’t seen them anywhere else. But if you want to own a pair of these I suggest you go buy some denim material and get your tailor to stitch you a pair.
Jodhupri Jeans And Jogger Jeans

Jogger Jeans
On a recent holiday I picked up these jogger jeans that resemble a pair of sweat pants. They are really comfy and they look super trendy but again I haven’t seen them in India so you will have to stitch them.

Here are some of my favorite jeans for this summer. Go pick up a pair today!!!!
