DIY- Clear Clutch

Hello my lovelies !!!!
Sorry I haven't been posting a lot lately. My cousin got married last week and my sister is getting married next week so there is a lot of craziness in the Shroff household!

Clear clutches and accessories have been a big trend in 2013. But unfortunately plastic isn't cheap! You can't get a clear clutch for less that 25-30$ and thats a lot for a plastic bag! So I thought I'd make my own and guess what it looks super chic, its easy and it cost me less that 5$. :)

You like???
I bought the plastic from a wholesale vendor at Crawford market in Mumbai and the screw on spikes from a store near Cheap Jack on Hill road, Bandra.

Here's my simple DIY video...

How To Wear Statement Necklaces This Party Season

Tis the time to party. Tis the time to get last years not so worn out dresses if you’re on a budget (as most of us are). No matter how often you’ve worn a dress, it can always look different if you accessorise it differently each time. And what better accessory than a statement necklace? This season Accessorize has designed a must have range of statement necklaces. A huge range of necklaces, that could be worn either solo or accessorized to the max. I have shown  you how to pair the necklaces with your party (or run down party outfits) to create a fabulous, eye-catching look. So whether your style is bohemian or grunge, vintage or classic the following looks will inspire you all to dress your best for the party season.

Grunge - This look is edgy and fun. The look can be achieved by stacking necklaces and bracelets, and lots of spikes. In the look shown I have worn a chunky metal necklace (edgy enough) and added more drama to it by layering it with this stunning 3 tiered necklace (my favorite). I have added a 2 finger ring to it.
Also I have worn the spike bracelets as a bun holder in my hair.

Here I have teamed a basic black vest with a royal blue skirt from
Fashionalized. Buy it now

Classic - This is a very minimal look where I’ve paired classic red lips with this gorgeous statement necklace. This classic piece is a true investment, one that will never go out of style! It can even be paired with jeans and a fitted white shirt with heels. I’ve added a braided bun to give it more of a feminine touch. This is my go-to look when I’m in a dilemma. Classic. Simple. Sophisticated.

Metallic Bralet is from Forever 21 and my skirt is from
The Closet Label

Vintage – This is a classic look combined with old Hollywood style. This statement necklace, very vintage styled, is paired with a black and gold dress, this very old Hollywood hairstyle, the gorgeous drop earring and the ring all in a lovely rusted gold shade giving a very Great Gatsby feel. Jazz up any outfit with this one of a kind necklace and you can thank me later for the compliments you receive *wink wink*

The dress in this look is from FASHIONALIZED. Buy it now.

Bohemian – This one is the most fun look of all. Feminine yet quirky, this look is assured to make you stand out in a crowd. I’ve worn this gorgeous drop necklace to add funk to the plain black maxi dress. I’ve worn this silver headband, as a halo across my head. Have also stacked these fun bracelets on my hand. A sure shot look to grab eyeballs girls

So girls, this festive season no more complaining about having no clothes. Just pull out your old party dresses, and jazz them up with these awesome accessories from Accessorize India to shine brighter than the stars. It's all about the bling!

Lakme Absolute Salon - Review

Hello my lovelies,
So I visited the Lakme Absolute Salon at Bandra to get a facial and I can't tell you how impressed I was. The Salon is very spacious and has a runway right in the middle so if you feel like a supermodel after your service you can strut your stuff too! The walls are full of beautiful black and white images shot backstage at Lakme Fashion Week.

My consultation started with a detailed skin analysis by their skin expert. Now this is great coz they actually use a camera to take pictures of your skin and then transfer them to the computer, after which their skin analysis software gives you a detailed description of the skin type and current condition. Then they will tailor make a facial which is best suited for your skin. So you don't just go in and get a regular facial you get exactly what your skin needs. :)

She told me my skin was oily but a bit dehydrated which was due to my hectic shooting schedule and a family wedding I'm guessing. So they recommended an Algae facial to hydrate my skin.

Their therapy rooms are nice and spacious and my therapist was amazing. The facial was so relaxing and after she was done she gave me a short neck and back massage which I am still blessing her for! The facial left my skin feeling as soft as a baby's bottom!  I am definitely going back to the salon very soon. I was very impressed with the Lakme Absolute Salon and when you visit I'm       sure you will be too!

Check out all their services on their website .

Model Diary- A Day In My Life

People always think modelling is super fun and easy and most times it is but there are days like today when you have to be patient, calm, look great and then change 25 times!!!
So my day started early coz my reporting time was 10am in Andheri . I arrived 10 minutes late and apologised to everyone coz I am usually early and I always respect people's time. Little did I know that the hairstylist is going to be 1 hour late & now I have been ready with hair and makeup for over an hour but not shooting.
So after I was ready they told me to wait coz they wanted to shoot 14 changes with the other model first and here I am waiting for over an hour! It's 1.30 in the afternoon and I haven't even started shooting !!! And guess what! When I start I have 25 changes coz this is a catalog shoot!!!
So as you can see most days in the life of a model have no trace of Glamour and fun ! I'm going back to editing videos on my laptop now since I have the time  :)

The Bridal Beauty Survival Kit For Estylista.com

Every bride doesn't want to just look her best on her wedding day, she wants flawless skin, shiny hair , Deepika Padukone's outfits  and Kate Upton's body too! And somehow just on that day you skin, body and hair turn out to be your biggest enemies. But don't worry ladies I have put together a "Bridal Beauty Survival Kit" thats going to help you fight  all your enemies and look like a princess on your wedding day.

So here's what you need...

  • Cotton Buds-  Most brides cry and smudge they mascara and kajal and end up looking like their groom has given them a black eye! Ok now this may sound grosse but it works better than any  makeup remover in the world. Take a cotton bud and dab the end in your spit and just wipe the area you need to clean and voila you have mascara free skin!
  • Flutivate Gel-  Getting a zit just before the wedding is every brides worst nightmare. Use this gel over the zit 3 times a day and it will magically disappear. This is easily available at any chemist but you might want to check with your doctor before using it if you have sensitive skin.
  • Beer- Don't worry I'm not trying to get you drunk! Beer is great for your hair and if you want nice shiny and smooth hair just rinse your hair with beer the night before the wedding.
  • Potatoes- If you have dark circles just take a potato and stick it in the freezer and then slice it and put it on your eyes. This really works!!!
  • Carmex lip balm- Use carmex lip balm for 2 days before the wedding and you will have lovely soft moist lips. The reason I recommend it is coz its meant for really cold weather and is quite heavy duty and effective as compared to other lip balms.
  • Swiss Army Knife- Every bride needs one of these!!! its got a nail file so you don't need to worry about chipped nails, a tweezer to get that one patch of hair your waxing lady missed, a scissor to cut off loose threads or labels from your designer outfit and a toothpick so you never have food stuck between your teeth.
  • Spanx- If you want to look like a supermodel in a lengha then you need something thats going to shape you up. Every celebrity wears spanx under their designer threads to look their best so why shouldn't you?
  • Green Tea- Its calming, sliming and will help you detox after you have eaten a 100 laddus!
So ladies this is my bridal beauty survival kit. I hope all you bridezillas turn into princesses with all my wedding essentials.

Watch me Here as I get ready for a big fat Indian wedding !!!

Read the post on Estylista.com and see where you can buy the bridal must haves too!

Accessorize's Autumn/Winter Campaign With Tamsin Egerton

Hi my lovelies!!!

As you all know, I love my accessories and what better store for them than Accessorize? I absolutely love the current campaign of Accessorize which includes winged handheld totes, slouchy oversized clutches and chic colour-blocked hobos – and exaggerated heirloom style jewellery adorning the face of the 2013 autumn/winter campaign - Tamsin Egerton. Tamsin is an English actress and model, rumoured to be dating Josh Hartnett (sigh!). She is best known for her roles as Chelsea Parker in the 2007 film St Trinian’s, Holly Goodfellow in Keeping Mum, and Guinevere in the 2011 TV series Camelot, and most recently she played Fiona Richmond in the film ‘The Look of Love’. The campaign, shot by Ben Weller who in his kitty, has shot for Vogue around the world, and styled by Naomi Miller, former Harper Bazaar’s stylist has new look studio shots for the for the brand, all styled with a clean, sharp edge. A London-girl-about-town feel is seen with Egerton carrying the season’s most coveted bags.

The campaign moves on to reach out to the brand’s more grown-up styling for October, with Egerton showcasing fashion-forward day clutches and look-at-me jewels. November sees the actress transformed into a street-savvy stylista with on-trend boyfriend beanies and statement knitted scarves.

December delivers the brand’s Christmas shots, with Egerton embracing the famous glitzy side of Accessorize; think endlessly sparkling gemstones and heavily embellished clutches; picture perfect for the up and coming party season.  In fact Tamsin is quite experimental with her style and says that she gets bored doing the same look over and over again. Her style is flouncy, girly one moment and masculine and structured the next. (Just like me, tee hee). I can’t wait to try her fave pieces from the collection which are the gold & black bracelets (that I’d love to add to my usual stack on my hand) the gold rings as you could mix and match as many or a little as you like to create different looks. The rings actually work really well together with the bracelets.

The coming party season means lots of new looks to try and lots of accessories to flaunt. Accessorize’s new campaign has definitely caught my eye and would probably be my one-stop-shop for the party season’s jewelry shopping. Has it made it to yours yet?
