Dear Quintessential Indian Man

I know this blog is usually about fashion but after my girls night out last night I just had to write this post. And anyway good looks, chivalry and a good sense of humor never go out of fashion . I feel terrible for  all you single ladies looking for your "Perfect Indian Man" coz honestly I don't think there are more than a handful of them around! Those of you who like me have managed to find one should consider yourselves veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy lucky! But don't worry girls, I'm going to whip these Indian men into shape for you. Listen up boys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear  Quintessential Indian Man,

For every well mannered polite Indian man, there are 23 others who are the exact opposite of him. I don't get why Indian men have such a bad attitude, whether it is basic chivalry or simple manners. It is easier to locate the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry than to locate a true gentleman in India. Back in the day, courting a girl involved giving her a rose with a card that read, 'From Your Secret Admirer'. In today's day and age, guys think the best way to approach a girl, is to send them a Facebook message that reads,"Letz make Fraandship". All the true Indian gentlemen are either taken or they're no longer living in India. I have come up with a list of do's and dont's for all you Indian men out there. Follow this list and maybe next time a girl might consider making 'fraandship' with you.

Don't

1) Don't hold another man's hand when walking down a road.
2) Don't stare at women constantly. Kick-boxing and mixed martial arts is becoming more and more popular.
3) Don't dress like you are on the TV show 'Lost'.
4) Don't be a momma's boy. (You're kidding yourself if you say you're not one)
5) Don't believe that alcohol makes you sexier.

Do

1) Do use a deodorant 3 times a day, it's just hygienic.
2) Do open the door for lady. We always notice these things.
3) Do offer to pay on the first date if you want a second.
4) Do try and look at our face while talking to us.
5) Do groom yourself well everyday, it doesn’t hurt to do so!

Hope all you men have been taking notes!

Maximize Your Style With A Maxi

I know when you think of summer you think of pretty short little dresses but this summer, long is the new short ladies! The Maxi dress is everywhere!!! A lot of people think this trend is only for slim and tall women but that’s a total myth. Maxis come in different shapes and cuts, just like any other dress so you just need to find one that works well for your body. I’m sure lots of you want to show off your toned legs in a tiny number but trust me you will stand out more AND look super chic in a maxi anywhere.
If you’re still not convinced then you can also try a maxi skirt that gives you a more casual feel. Both maxi skirts and dresses can be dressed up or down to suit your requirements and they can also be easily transformed from day to night looks.
I can’t stop wearing my maxis and I keep buying more!!! You can team them with a Blazer for a more formal look or a denim jacket for the day. Wear them with flats during the day for a easy breezy comfortable look and when you’re ready to party just throw on a nice pair of wedges to compete the look.

Here are some shots of me in my Maxi’s.

Espadrilles- The Iconic Summertime Shoe

This summer give up your favorite flip-flops and throw on a pair of Espadrilles. For those of you who don't know what I am talking about, Espadrilles are normally casual flats, but sometimes high heeled shoes originating from the Pyrenees. They usually have a canvas or cotton fabric upper and a flexible sole made of rope. The rope sole is the defining characteristic of an espadrille; the uppers vary widely in style.Espadrilles have been around since the 14th century which is why I like to call them -The Iconic Summertime Shoe. They are comfortable and these casual kicks will make you look effortlessly chic.  In my opinion they are the ultimate summer must haves for both men and women and the best part is that they never go out of fashion! I had a pair of these when I was a little girl and I just bought a pair a couple of months ago and lets just say their cool quotient has only increased over the years. If you want  authentic Spanish Espadrilles I suggest you check out espadrillesetc.com but if you're looking for something different there are loads of espadrille inspired  sandals available.
