Maybelline Color Show - Review

I have been dying to try the new Maybelline Color Show kit and review it. I was waiting to go to the salon and get my nails done  coz I'm terrible at painting my own nails but I just haven't had the time. This morning I saw the kit lying on my dressing table and I had some free time so I decided to give it a shot. And heres what I did ...

So I started with the color show shade Hooked-on-Pink no 212.  The nail paint was thin and easy to apply even for a terrible painter like myself. It dried sooooooooooooo fast even after two coats. I must say I love the poppy pink shade, its really vibrant and bright.

Next step is the nail art, which I have only tried professionally at nail studios. Maybelline makes it really easy with these cute nail stickers. On my sticker sheet I had bows, ties, moustaches and hats. I am currently obsessed with muchis so I choose the green moustache sticker. Unfortunately the bright green looked like black coz it was on pink but I'm not complaining coz they are just so dam cute !

Just top it off with a clear top coat and your good to go. I of course had to clean the sides and take off all the excess nail paint but I don't think you pros will have the same problem.

I am really impressed with this kit and the results. I honestly never thought that I could try DIY nail art and this was just sooooooooo easy !

So if your a terrible nail painter like me or your a pro who changes her nail paint everyday you must try the Maybelline Color Show Range and when you do send me pictures on twitter or instagram ! Can't wait to see what you guys come up with.

DIY Session At Warren Tricomi

Hello Lovlies !

This post should have gone up earlier but for some reason I couldn't find the pictures from the event on my Mac! But don't worry I managed to get some from my phone and I stole some from the Warren Tricomi Facebook page ;) Im sure they wont mind . Hehe

So Warren Tricomi invited some beauty bloggers for a DIY hairstyling session at their Mumbai salon. I was really excited coz as you all know I love doing hair tutorials on my YouTube channel. They showed us a few basic hairstyles which were great. I also did fellow blogger Karishma Rawat's hair and gave the girls a tutorial on my Game Of Thrones inspired hairstyle.

The spa & salon was very spacious. I loved the massage rooms!!! They were so nice and big unlike the little cubicles you see at spas these days and I must say very tastefully done up too. And guess what!!!! Every room had an attached steam room too! Now this is something a lot of spas don't have. I am actually really looking forward to visiting the Spa again and this time Im gonna make sure I get a massage . I need more pampering!

Here are some pictures for you guys ...

Be Beautiful & Vlog On

For the first time in India Youtube & Be Beautiful came together to host an event on vlogging ! I can't tell you how much fun it was. Im so excited that India is getting excited about vlogging and Indian Youtubers. Ever since I started working on Fashion Tube I knew that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life.  And for me thats huge coz I have gone from being a Model to a lawyer to a blogger to a vlogger! Sometimes it takes a while to find your calling but when you find it and you know that this is what you want to do, the feeling is amazing. So well the plan is to be India's biggest beauty/fashion vlogger!

Coming back to the workshop. It was a 12 hour long event right from breakfast to dinner with great sessions by youtube, make up expert Clint Fernandes, Bumpy from 120 Media Collective and Ambika Anand. I think its a great initiative and I hope lots of  bloggers will turn into vloggers and us vloggers will turn into Indian Youtube Beauty Guru's ;). My favourite part of the workshop was the DIY contest where we were divided into teams and asked to make a channel promo. I was really lucky to be in the same team as fellow vloggers Aanam, Sonal and Rishab. We had soooooooooooo much fun shooting and editing our promo. We will probably also shoot a collab video really soon!

Thank you Be Beautiful and Youtube for strengthening my belief that Im going to be the biggest Indian Beauty Guru on Youtube.

Here are some pictures from the event...

How To Take The Perfect #Selfie?

Hello my lovelies !

If your not familiar with the term "selfie" then your obviously not self obsessed like I am and you probably don't exist in the instaworld! A selfie is basically a picture of yourself taken by you and shared on your Instagram account. Lately a lot of people have been telling me that they love my Instagram pictures and my selfies. And lots of them have asked me how I mange to always look great in my selfies ? Well I must admit taking a selfie is not an easy task and taking great selfies is an Art!

So today I'm going to share some tips on how to take the perfect selfie. Listen up ladies & Gentlemen.
  • LOOK YOUR BEST
If your going to take a picture of yourself its probably going to be a close up shot so you want to look your best . Eg. Tweeze your eyebrows, wear some gloss or lipstick, conceal your dark circles or pimples or wear a cool pair of sunglasses(I have seen the ugliest people look 100 times better!)

These pictures have all been taken with make up when Im going out to a party or an event. Its the best time to take selfies.

  • IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT PHONE YOU HAVE
Trust me you don't need a fancy camera phone to click nice selfies. I have an I Phone 3gs and it doesn't even have a front camera so I can't see myself when I click. Just make sure you are comfortable with the phone and you can hold it steady with one hand. Also take pictures in front of a mirror so when you flip the phone you can see it in the mirror and can frame your shot well. ;) Or just take one of you in the mirror.

I have shot a picture of the mirror here.

  • KEEP IT STEADY
Nobody likes blurred pictures and its cool if your going for a cool artsy effect once in a while but otherwise make sure your picture is clear. Hold your phone in such a way that you have a steady hand. I usually hold the phone with one hand and hit click with the other.

  • NEVER TAKE JUST ONE
Sometimes you get lucky with a great shot but most other times its either blurry, your nose looks to big or you look like a vamp so its always better to take 4-5 shots moving the phone at different angles. And after your done you just go through the pictures and pick the best shot. I use an app called CameraProFx that has a multi shot feature you can try that too.

I took 3 shots and decided to go with the last one.

  • DON'T BE AFRAID TO EXPRESS YOURSELF
Most people get conscious while taking a selfie and hold back with the intension to look pretty. Well pretty gets boring after a point people so let your personality come through, make funny faces, look sexy, use props and basically just have fun!

  • FILTERS ARE YOUR FRIENDS
Ok so heres the truth... Even if your gorgeous you can't always look nice and everyone has flaws. Instagram filters are great and when you start experimenting with them you will realise that some work for you more than others. My favourites are Rise, Amaro and Valencia. There are also loads of other photography apps that have great effects and filters, some of the ones I use are FaceMan, Photo Editor, CameraProFx and InstaEffect.

Before & After

Filters & effects will add just the right amount of drama ;)

  • MAKE A COLLAGE
Sometimes its nice to make a collage of selfies or frame your pictures with fun frames. My favourite app after Instagram is InstaCollage. After you take a picture you gotta work on it too guys.

  • TAKE PICTURES IN INTERESTING SURROUNDINGS
Take selfies in different interesting places and not just your bedroom. And don't get conscious to take em in public places. I'm sure there are loads of other freaks like us!

In an auto
Elevator

Shoot

Behind the scenes at a shoot
In a cab

Thats all from me guys. I hope these tips and tricks will make you all pro selfie takers! xoxo
